In Singapore, there are the following roles:

Case Development (not opening now)

In this role, you will be liaising with professors, advisors and company representatives to gather information and develop high-quality business case studies for use in the Ychallenge case competition as well as for international publication to the academic community. Our business cases have made their ways into the business classrooms of Singapore Management University and we hope to expand the efforts in bringing those case studies to more universities worldwide as well as to the wider international communities.

You would also be helping in brainstorming ways through which Ychallenge in particular, as well a Yplatform as a whole, can engage international academicians/experts/judges more effectively and create an “international bridge” bringing international insights to Vietnam. You could also be helping in liaising with the judges and ensuring the fairness of the Ychallenge competition.

To succeed in this role, you would likely have good problem-solving skills and methodologies, an eye for details, and the ability to understand business issues and think strategically. You would also be having good writing skills in English, know how to do research and data gathering, and would enjoy working in team and collaborating with others. It will be an advantage if you are knowledgeable about certain industries as well as have a good grasp about current business/economic trends in Vietnam (and/or other countries) and the issues affecting those businesses.

Business Development (still opening now – please apply in the application form further below)

You will not just think about what Yplatform can “get” from our partner companies, but really about how Yplatform can help/support our partner companies to increase their business competitivenes in local and global markets. Overall, it’s about increasing Vietnamese business competitiveness AND growing together in the long-term.

Your aim would be to develop new business partnerships as well as to maintain and strengthen existing business relationships. You understand about our value proposition and how we can add values/bring benefits to the partners companies. You would ensure their satisfaction throughout their engagement with Ychallenge competition in particular, as well as with Yplatform as a whole. You would be able to propose recommendations to re-define the current product portfolios of Yplatform in order to suit the needs of the partner companies. You would also play a very important role in ensuring the financial sustainability for Ychallenge in particular as well as for Yplatform as a whole.

To succeed in this role, you would generally have good communication and organizational skills, interpersonal sensitivity, an eye for details, as well as the ability to understand business issues and think trategically. You would communicate fluently in both English and Vietnamese, and can be persuasive and adaptive. You understand about the goals of Yplatform/Ychallenge, but at the same time, you know how to reach win-win situation with the partner companies. It will also be an advantage if you are knowledgeable about certain industries as well as have a good grasp about current business/economic trends in Vietnam and the issues affecting those businesses.

Program Development & International Outreach

You would be wearing “multiple hats” concurrently: understanding about the youth (target customers); brainstorming ideas and developing programs for the youth (especially for the Ychallenge program, and perhaps other activities/programs of Yplatform that can create unique experience for the youth and support youth development); attracting/reaching out to potential youth participants around the world; and facilitating the building a community of talented youth (of different nationalities) who are interested in strengthening Vietnamese business competitiveness. In reaching to international participants in different counries, you may also be liaising with different universities and student/youth clubs around the world as well.

This year, Yplatform also hopes to extend our reach internationally and we hope that Ychallenge would become a truly international case competition (not just limited to mostly Singapore and Vietnam). We also wish to extend our relationships to international media/press as well as other international organizations/institutions/stakeholders that could help further our cause, because the goal of Yplatform is to create the connecting platform bringing global insights/expertise/network (for/to Vietnam).

Generally, we would expect that you would be able to think creatively/strategically, attend to details, have an approachable personality, and understand about the value proposition of Yplatform/Ychallenge. Past experience in organizing youth activities and/or engaging with youth communities (of different nationalities) and/or reaching out to international media ould be an advantage.

And of course, you do NOT need to know Vietnamese in order to apply for this “Program Development & International Outreach” role!

Technologists (still opening now)

Guess that there isn’t a need for a “job description” here. So if you think yourself as a so-called “technologist” and you can think of a way in which technology can help further the cause of Yplatform as a whole, please let us know. Think of it like a “blank sheet of paper” and we would love to hear any suggestions/proposals. For this “technologist” role, you don’t even need to fill in the application form below, but you can just simply write to join.global@yplatform.vn and we can discuss further.
